The program and activities commenced as a partnership with Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, Coimbatore in 1990. The program transformed into Mission for Vision (MFV) when a wider group of donors joined with a desire to spread the program to other parts of India. MFV has since grown, over the last decade, to eight hospitals in five States performing more than 110,000 surgeries per annum.
